Biography of Lisette Maassen

Lisette Maassen was born in may of 1978 in Beuningen, Holland. When she was growing up, her love for drawing, painting and art in general, started. Especially her inspiring drawing classes in high school opened her eyes. So much that she decided to go to art school after graduating.

In Enschede she started her artistic education, but she soon found out that this education suppressed her creativity more than it developed it. She decided take a different turn and started to study communications at the university of Amsterdam.

Her passion in art stayed and after a short break to get her bachelors' degree, she has now finally focused all her energy on her painting.

Lisette gets her inspiration by different elements, but a recurring object remains the female body. In every painting she tries to give the viewer a certain feeling by means of color and technique.
